Ida's Cafe, built in memory of Joseph Friend's wife, is located at 2356 Sutter St, across from Mt. Zion Hospital in the Women's Health Center. While the cafe does not serve food, it offers a quiet spot in which you can enjoy your own lunch or coffee or just relax. The outer wall of the cafe has floor-to-ceiling windows that lead directly to the Healing Garden.

HEALING GARDEN

The Healing Garden, designed by Ann Chamberlain and landscape architect Katsy Swan, offers a charming courtyard that includes a fountain and outdoor seating area surrounded by flowers and trees. Tiles from the Mount Zion School of Nursing decorate the fountain area, remind us of the vision and caring spirit of these women. When visiting the cafe, you can take your lunch or snack outside to the garden, where you can enjoy your meal while listening to the serene sounds of running water.
