Dr. Catherine Park is a radiation oncologist with a special interest in the treatment of breast cancer. She earned a medical degree at the UCLA School of Medicine and completed a residency in radiation oncology at the Joint Center for Radiation Oncology at Harvard Medical School. After serving as a visiting scientist at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Park joined UCSF Medical Center. Her research focuses on enhancing our understanding of the role of the microenvironment and extracellular matrix in radiation response and investigating novel ways to apply this knowledge to improve outcomes for patients. Additionally, she has served for 3 years on the ASCO Education Committee and has been more recently appointed to the ASTRO Education Committee and Emerging Technology Committees. She has also served on the Korean Art and Culture Committee of the Asian Art museum, promoting cultural awareness and as a mentor for career advisees.
