Dr. Catherine Park is a radiation oncologist with a special interest in the treatment of breast cancer. She earned her medical degree at the UCLA School of Medicine and completed a residency in radiation oncology at the Joint Center for Radiation Therapy at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Park has held concurrent appointments since 2000 at the UCSF Comprehensive Cancer Center and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Her research focuses on enhancing our understanding of the role of the microenvironment and extracellular matrix in radiation response, and investigating novel ways to apply this knowledge to improve outcomes for patients. Additionally, she served three years on the ASCO Education Committee and was appointed to the ASTRO Education Committee and the Emerging Technology Committee. Outside of radiation oncology, Dr. Park has served on the Asian Art Museum's Korean Art and Culture Committee, working to promote cultural awareness as well as to mentor career advisees.
She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Upjohn Achievement Award and the C. Donald O'Malley Prize in the History of Medicine.
