Before moving to California, Dr. Barbara Fowble was the Clinical Director of the Radiation Oncology Department, Associate Director of the Breast Evaluation Center and a Senior Member of the division of medical science at Fox Chase cancer Center (an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is internationally recognized for her expertise in radiation and breast cancer. Dedicated to the treatment of breast cancer patients, Dr. Fowble has treated thousands of women with radiation. Her research studies have defined the roles of breast conservation therapy as an alternative to mastectomy and radiation after mastectomy. She was the founder and the inspiration for the Fox Chase Cancer Center Complementary Medicine Program, ÒComplete CareÓ. Dr. Fowble has been selected as one to the top physicians in the United States by such publications as American Health magazine, Best Doctors in America, Good Housekeeping, Town and Country and Philadelphia Magazine. She was featured in Time-lifeÕs medical video on breast cancer. She is the author of numerous scientific publications and was the primary editor of a textbook on breast cancer treatment. She has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Clinical Oncology and the International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, and Physics. She was a guest editor for Breast Diseases: A Yearbook Quarterly and associate editor for the Breast Journal.
