Biography

A native of Switzerland, Munster moved to the United States after studying medicine in Bern. She completed her residency training at Indianapolis University Medical Center, and graduate studies as a Hematology/Oncology Fellow at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). At MSKCC, she also served as a research associate and clinical faculty member. As Assistant Professor in the Division of Breast Oncology & Experimental Therapeutics at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Dr. Munster ran her own lab and served as Director of Breast Cancer Research.

At the Carol Franc Buck Breast Care Center, Munster specializes in breast oncology. She also directs the Early Phase Clinical Trials Program at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center, helping us test the newest and most promising anti-cancer agents for the first time, and figuring out the right dose and the right way to give these drugs. Her primary research interest is in histone deacetylase inhibitors.

Munster and her husband, Adil Daud, MD, enjoy winter sports in the Sierras with their children. They are also history and archeology buffs, and frequently take advantage of the wealth of art, music, and other culture available in the Bay Area.
