Suzanne Eder
Nurse Practitioner
Biography
Suzanne Eder began her nursing career in her native New York City. After earning a bachelor's degree in nursing from Hunter College, she took a position at New York Hospital where she was one of the founding nurses of New York Hospital's AIDS unit. In her nine years on the unit, Eder was a strong advocate for patients and staff and worked to educate the hospital community about AIDS. Eder trained as a family nurse practitioner at UCSF while she worked in UCSF Medical Center's bone marrow transplant unit for three years. After completing her nurse practitioner training, Eder provided care in the community to patients with both primary and specialized asthma needs. In 2001, she returned to UCSF to work in the Breast Care Center where she focuses on breast cancer follow-up and prevention. One of her goals is to improve the quality of life of breast cancer survivors and women at risk for breast cancer.
